I forgot our thermic and a combination re reaction tends to be exo thermic, and it's actually pretty easy. Let's think of a decomposition reaction. A decomposition could be maybe a Compound A Y, and it's going to break into its constituents. It takes energy to break bonds. We have to put energy into the reactant to break the bonds, which means energy would be absorbed. Leaving us XO Endo Endo thermic. Now just the opposite. If I have these two compounds combining, um, energy tends to be released or given off like an Excel when we make bonds, when we create a bond and that's it.
