to figure out the concentration of potassium hydroxide in an acquis sample. There are several steps that you would follow by performing a tie Trey shin. First, you would take a known volume, but you would have measured of your potassium hydroxide solution and place it into a beaker. For example, you take 100 mL or 1000.1 leaders. It would then take Obure aet that contains an acid that would react with the potassium hydroxide, such as hydrochloric acid. It would have a known concentration se 0.1 Moeller. You would then add the hydrochloric acid to the potassium hydroxide until the indicator changed color, which would tell you when to stop. This would correspond to a stoy geometric amount of hydrochloric acid that would have been added to completely neutralize the potassium hydroxide. You would then measure the volume of hydrochloric acid required to neutralize the potassium hydroxide. Then, knowing the volume of hydrochloric acid and its concentration, you can calculate the moles of hydrochloric acid required to neutralize the potassium hydroxide. Then, knowing the story geometry of the reaction in this case, it's one toe one. The moles of hydrochloric acid added, would equal the moles of potassium hydroxide that was present. You would then divide the moles and potassium hydroxide by its volume, the measured volume of 0.1 leaders in order to determine the concentration of potassium hydroxide.
