In mathematics, a function is a relation between a set of inputs and a set of permissible outputs with the property that each input is related to exactly one output. An example is the function that relates each real number x to its square x^2. The output of a function f corresponding to an input x is denoted by f(x).

for this problem. We've been asked to write the equation of a line with a given slope and white intercept for this problem. We're told that our slope is going to be zero and our Y intercept is the 0.0 negative too. Now, the Y intercept will always have a zero as my X coordinate. Because when the line intersects the Y intercept or the Y axis, that means that I haven't x value of zero. So when I talk about the y intercept, I'm really looking at that. Why Value of the intercept point, which is negative. Two here. So how do I use this information to write the equation of a line? Well, we would use the slope intercept form, which is why equals M X plus B. It's called the slope Intercept form because it uses both the slope which we abbreviate as M and the Y intercept, which we abbreviate with a B. Why equals M X plus B uses my slope and my intercept. So let's plug our give it values into this formula. Why equals m excess my slope? This case, my slope is zero. So I have zero times x plus my y intercept? Well, my wife, except is negative two. So it's plus a negative, too. And let's clean this up zero times X is just zero. I don't need that in my final answer. So all I'm left with is why equals negative, too?
