In mathematics, a function is a relation between a set of inputs and a set of permissible outputs with the property that each input is related to exactly one output. An example is the function that relates each real number x to its square x^2. The output of a function f corresponding to an input x is denoted by f(x).

for this problem. We've been asked to find the equation of a line with a given slope. And why intercept for this problem? We're told that the slope is two and the Y intercept occurs at the 20.4 Now, why? Intercepts will always have an X value of zero. Because you're intercepting the Y axis. The Y axis occurs when x zero. So this zero here is gonna be a given. So when we talk about the y intercept, we're really going to be looking at that. Why value? So in this case, why? Why intercept is it for now? How do we take this information and write an equation of a line? Well, as a reminder, the equation of the line the way we often give it, is why equals M X plus B. We call this our slope intercept form because it uses both the slope, which we usually abbreviate his m and the Y intercept, which we abbreviate with a B slope intercept form y equals MX plus B. So let's plug in the values we know here. Why equals m x Will, the slope is too. So it's gonna be two x the y intercept is a positive for, so it's going to be plus four. So our slope and our intercept give us the equation of the line. Why equals two X plus four?
