all right for this problem were asked to determine if the point 5/6 comma seven is a solution to the equation. Why minus six X is equal to 12. In order to solve this, we will plug in the point into the equation. We recognize that points are in the form X comma y. And so that tells us that we were place every X in the equation with a 5/6. And then we replaced every why in the equation with a seven so right that bottom why were replaced with seven minus six x we replace the X with a 5/6 equals 12. And so now we simplify the left side seven minus six times 5/6. The six is cancelled because there's a six and the numerator and the denominator, and we get a five equals 12. Now we further simplify the left side. Seven minus five is too, which is equal to 12. Now we know that too is not equal to 12 because they're not the same number. And so that tells us that the point 5/6 comma seven is not a solution to the equation.
