this problem, I'm given the equation. Why equals X cubed and I need to determine if this equation is linear or not. Linear linear equations are written in the form Why equals mix? Must be. I can already see that with my ex haven't expanded of three that this cannot be a linear equation because a leader equation is only gonna have an X with an exponents of one so less graft to prove that this is indeed not a linear equation. So for this one, we're gonna use the points Negative too negative. One zero one to and three. So here we have. Why equals negative to Cuba, which is the same as negative two times negative two times negative too. Which will give may negative. Eight. Why equals negative one cute negative one times negative one times negative One is negative. One why equals zero huge is still going to give me zero. Why equals one cute? It will be one. Why equals two Cubed is eight and why equals three Cubed is 27 Now on this graph, I don't have a 27 so let's go ahead and graft these points and then we can add to that. So let's make this graph just a little bit smaller so we can see it all. Okay, so let's start with our first point of negative, too. Negative. Eight, which is right here. Then we have negative one negative. One 00 one positive. One to eight. And actually, I can see that this is not linear without my 3 27 So we're not gonna worry about graphing it. So let's connect our lines. So at first it starts. Looks looking like a straight line. And then my line actually is going to change directions and then go back to another direction. So you can see that because of this, this is not a linear equation because it actually does not continue own. It's one strike.
