Chemokines

Chemokines are small signaling proteins that specialize in directing the migration of immune cells to sites of inflammation or injury through a process known as chemotaxis. ELR Motif

The ELR motif—a sequence of amino acids comprising Glutamic acid (E), Leucine (L), and Arginine (R)—is characteristic of a subset of CXC chemokines.
