Hey guys, so for this question we're going to be talking about a system and surroundings.
00:07
So to define these two things, we're going to use a similar example to the one found in your book.
00:15
So the earth, for example, is a system.
00:37
And the earth is a system because a system is defined as an object or collection of objects.
00:46
Objects and this is what is being studied.
01:07
So if you're studying the earth, then you're studying the earth, which is kind of an object in and of itself, but also a collection of objects, and that's what you're studying.
01:17
So that is the system that is being looked at if you're going to be setting the earth, for example.
01:23
And then the surroundings is everything around this earth because the earth doesn't just exist in a vacuum.
01:33
It exists with a lot of things around it and a lot of environmental factors that we have to kind of also consider.
01:39
We can't just ignore those...
