In an effort to determine whether differences exist between three methods of teaching statistics, a professor of business taught his course differently in each of three large sections. In the first section, he taught by lecturing; in the second, he taught by the case method; and in the third, he used a computer software package extensively. At the end of the semester, each student was asked to evaluate the course on a seven-point scale, where 1 = atrocious, 2 = poor, 3 = fair, 4 = average, $5=$ good, 6 = very good, and $7=$ excellent.
