we're being asked to write an equation of the line that passes through the points negative to one, and negative to 15. Will would never rewrite the equation. The line. The first thing we need is our slope will define the soap. We're gonna use our soap formula, which remember, is m equals Y sub two minus Weiss of one over except to minus except one. So I'm gonna label my ordered pairs for my first or two pair. I'm gonna label the ex of one. Then why someone and for my second would repair it goes except to and then wise up to. And now I'm in the substitute these values into my formula. So we're gonna have em equals Weiss of two, which is 15 my minus Weiss of one, which is one divided by, except to which is negative, too, minus x of one, which is negative too. Now we'll simplify. Well, 15 minus one is 14 and negative. Two divided by negative too is equal to zero. Well, we can't have their own zombie. The fraction which means that this slope is undefined. Well, because the soap is undefined. We know that this will be a vertical line and the general form for the equations of vertical lines is X equals some constant, which I'm going to call C Now keep in mind for vertical lines. For all of the points on the lines, the X values are always the same and even know this in our ordered pairs. Wth e X values for both points is negative too. So now we know that our equation for this vertical line will be X equals negative too.
