In looking for the volume of a cylinder, the first thing you need to do is get the formula for the volume of a cylinder.
00:10
And that's what that little c means here, that this formula that i have written up here is for the volume of a cylinder.
00:16
And so the volume of a cylinder is pi times the radius of that cylinder squared times the height of the cylinder.
00:24
So if we go and look at our cylinder, right here they've given us the radius is five inches and the height is seven inches.
00:32
Inches.
00:33
So the volume of my cylinder is going to be pi times the radius squared.
00:41
So my radius is five.
00:43
So five squared equals 25.
00:48
So i'm going to write 25 here.
00:50
And then my height is straightforward seven.
00:53
And so and now you're going to multiply the 25 times seven.
00:58
So the volume of my cylinder is pi times 25 times seven is 175.

And usually just conventionally we would write this...
