Hey everybody, so this question here is asking us to discuss the differences between our innate immune system and our adaptive immune system.
00:10
And so these are going to be two of the major immune responses or immune functions that our body is going to have.
00:20
So i'll write out here, starting with the innate immunity.
00:26
So innate here at the top, this is our adaptive, adaptive.
00:35
With immunity, adaptive immunity.
00:46
And really, i think the main point of our innate immunity is that it's really a non -specific response, right? so it doesn't differentiate between different types of pathogens that are going to be invading our body.
01:03
Our innate immunity is kind of a broad blanket of response.
01:08
It's always ready to go in our body.
01:10
Is always going to be kind of the first line of defense for any potential pathogen that's going to be invading our body.
01:19
So it's a first line of defense.
01:27
And the innate immunity is going to be mediated by different cells.
01:31
You're going to have different cells such as dendritic cells or macrophages, different leukocytes or white blood cells that are going to be constantly circulating in your body.
01:40
And these cells are going to be looking out for different molecular patterns, that don't match with the rest of your body, right? and so if something is invading your body, you have a bacteria that has gotten into your bloodstream...
