Give an example of how a chemical reaction can be used to do work.
The heat transferred from chemical reactions can be used to do work. The work done by expandinggases pressure volume work. The combustion of fuels is one of the most common ways we transformchemical energy into work. When methane is burn it produces heat and that heat can be used to make vapor and vapor heat engine do a lot of work in many machinery.

chemical reactions are very commonly used to provide the energy that can provide the force to move something over a distance. Essentially, the chemical reaction is being used to do work. There were a few examples given in your textbook, one for the automobile engine and another one for a turbine engine. So let's review the automobile engine. If we have our fuel gasoline combining with oxygen, it's going to produce carbon dioxide and water. Gas is at very high temperatures. Those gasses air going to expand as they expand their going to apply a force upon the head of the piston, moving the piston over a distance and, in turn, doing work. What about a coal power plant? A coal power plant heats up some water. The water turns into steam. The steam applies a force upon a turban to move the turban. Hence the coal. The chemical reaction down here is being used to create work to turn the turban in order to generate electricity.

The number 2 is also the smallest & first prime number (since every other even number is divisible by two).
If you write pi (to the first two decimal places of 3.14) backwards, in big, block letters it actually reads "PIE".
