How would the use of a volatile liquid affect the measurement of a gas using open-ended manometers vs. closed-end manometers?
Thus, the pressure reading in open ended manometer will be higher than that of close ended manometer.

going on with gasses and pressure pressure is the force excited per unit area. A man a meter is able to measure the pressure of a fluid. So in the case of a closed end man a meter, there will be no change in the measurements in the case of using a volatile liquid because the liquid which is vaporized will contribute equally. This will oppose the pressure in both arms of our magnitude. In the case of an open ended man ometer, a reading of a very high pressure of gas will be, uh, obtained due to the increase in the pressure that is generated by the vaporization of the volatile liquid. So therefore the pressure reading in an open end of manna meter will be higher than a closed and man ometer.
