Identify each of the underlined items as a part of either the macroscopic domain, the microscopic domain, or the symbolic domain of chemistry. For those in the symbolic domain, indicate whether they are symbols for a macroscopic or a microscopic feature.
(a) A certain molecule contains one $\mathrm{H}$ atom and one Cl atom.(b) Copper wire has a density of about 8 $\mathrm{g} / \mathrm{cm}^{3}$ .(c) The bottle contains 15 grams of Ni powder.(d) A sulfur molecule is composed of eight sulfur atoms.
a) symbolic and microscopic.b) microscopic.c) symbolic and microscopic.d) microscopic.

everyone, says Ricky. And today we're working on problem number five from Chapter one. So we're given four statements with underlying words or phrases in each statement, and we have to determine whether they are part of the macroscopic, or microscopic domain and whether they're symbolic. Not so. Our first underlined statement is H so H stands for hydrogen, and this is a symbolic representation of a microscopic phenomena. Next we have copper wire and copper wire is part of the microscopic domain. Next up we have nickel powder. This is symbolic and microscopic. And lastly, we have sulphur molecule and this is just microscopic. So this video is helpful. I'll see you on the next one.
