Parallel Fibers

Parallel fibers are the axons of granule cells in the cerebellum that form extensive, spread-out synaptic connections with Purkinje cells. Purkinje Cells

They integrate input from parallel fibers along with other sources, and their collective output is critical for fine-tuning motor coordination, balance, and timing of movements.

Synaptic Integration

Synaptic integration is the process by which a neuron adds together all the incoming excitatory and inhibitory signals.
