This is an interesting question. It says that a women stands on a bathroom scale and emotionally celebrator. When elevator begins to move the scale briefly there is only 0.5 times of a regular weight. So when you find a calculation of the acceleration of the Liberator in the direction of the acceleration. Alright, so there are two possibilities. Uh First off the scale reads the normal reaction. That's what the scale reads. So uh this is the elevator and this is the women over here and it has a reaction force and it has weight. So there are two possibilities either the the axle, either it's going up or let's say it's going down. We don't know uh if it is going up then the equation is gonna look like ar minus W. Is equal to M. A. Which means that R. Is equal to W plus M. A. Uh So this means that the reaction force has increased from the way. So it's more than that of weight in the case one. Let's call it case one. And for the case to that's going to be W minus R. Is equal to M. So it means that the reaction is W minus M which is less than the weight. And nearly The reaction force reads .75 of a regular weight, which means that the reaction force reads less than the usual weight. So it cannot be case one. It has to be case too because the kids too has a lesser value of the reaction force uh when compared to the weight. So definitely the acceleration is downward. So this is the direction of the acceleration. That's an answer. Now. Uh the point is we need to find the acceleration so the reaction force is 0.75 of the regular. Wait so wait as we can replace our by 0.575 W. This is equal to w minus and a. So if we rearrange this Emma is going to be equal to w minus 0.75 W. So that's going to be equal to M is equal to 0.25 times w. And wait is nothing but MG. So we're going to replace the blue by MG and we're here the masses cancer. So we got the value of the acceleration as 0.25 G. And let's plug in the value of Gs 9.8. So we get the value as uh economic algorithms so that's 2.45. Meet up a second square and the direction, like we said as downwards, Thank you
