Hi guys, today we're looking at the question in ash's conformity study, so i'm just going to label this question as ash study.
00:09
Approximately what percentage of participants gave at least one incorrect response? it helps for this question to know a little bit about the ash study.
00:18
So the ash study, most of the people in the study were actually people in on the study.
00:24
Let's say they ran a trial of 10 people and they ran trials multiple times.
00:29
Nine of those people would be people working with the people giving the study and then it'd be one person who wasn't aware and they were the person being tested so they would come in and they were all shown a simple like decision to not decision test a simple question where it was i think at one point it was which line is longer and be two lines one very clearly obviously longer than the other but i'm just writing out my options but the nine people in on the study were tasked with saying the wrong answer and then they'd judge what the regular person participant would say once there was some social pressure there because while we do want to be right and we do want to say the truth there is also the issue of being part of the group and being accepted by the group and so a lot of times the person would give the wrong answer that the rest of the group said.

And so basically they're asking us how many times did a participant give at least one incorrect response? and you might think, do they know it was incorrect? it was pretty obviously incorrect.

If you want to see some of the trials yourself, i think it's a pretty interesting study because of its simplicity...
