In Class 11th over school, 40% of students study mathematics and 30% students study biology. 10% of the class study both mathematics and biology. If a student is selected at random from the class, find a probability that he will be studying mathematics or Biology. So here let A be the event in which the selected students study mathematics and baby. The event in which the selected students studies biology accordingly, probability of A is 40% which is equal to 40 appoint 100. That would be equals 2 to a .5. Similarly, Probability of B is equal to 30%,, Which is equal to 30, appoint 100. It would be equals to 3.10, probability of A and B as equals two 10% Which is equals to 10-100. It would be equals to 1.10. Now we know that probability of a RB is equal to probability of A plus probability of B minus probability of A. And B. By substituting the values we get To a .5 plus 3.10 -1 upon 10. It would be equal to six upon 10, Which is equals to 0.6 does. The probability that the selected student will be studying mathematics or biology is Equals to 0.6.
