Rock Types

Sedimentary Rock

Fossilization

Fossilization is the process through which remains or traces of ancient organisms are preserved over geological time. This process is most successful in sedimentary environments where protective sediment cover shields biological material from decay and physical alteration, allowing fossil formation.
