in this question, we're being asked to write a polynomial to represent the length of the larger jet. Well, I certainly can't draw jet, so I essentially just kind of used rectangles in their place. But if you have your book, you'll actually see the picture a little bit more clear. So the one on top is the larger debt. No, that's Jet knows how. It's a little bit longer. The one below it is the smaller jet underneath. They show us that the length of the smaller jet is nine x minus 15 feet. They also tell us that from the tip of the smaller jets nose to the tip of the larger just knows is an additional two X plus three feet. Well, in order to find out the length of the larger jet, we simply need to add the length of the smaller jet, plus that additional two X plus three feet. So what we're going to do is add those to pollen, no meals. So we're gonna do nine X minus 15 plus two X plus three. Well, let me add Paulino meals. We simply need to combine our late terms. So Nynex has a late term of two ex well nine x plus two X is 11 x, and our next term is negative. 15th. Whose life term is positive? Three. Well, negative 15 plus Torrie is negative. 12. So the polynomial 11 x minus 12 can be used to represent the length of the larger jet now because they also gave us unit. We should put units on our answer, which in this case is going to be fi, so the length of our larger jet is going to be 11 x minus 12 feet.
