Lightning. The function $D(t)=\frac{t}{5}$ gives the approximate distance in miles that you are from a lightning strike, where $t$ is the number of seconds between seeing the lightning and hearing the thunder. Find $D(5)$ and explain what it means.

in this problem. We're told that the function D of T equals T divided by five gives us the approximate distance in miles that you are from a lightning strike where t is the number of seconds between seeing the lightning and hearing the thunder. We're being asked to find d of five and then explain what needs well, define t of five. We simply need to substitute five in for tea in our function. So when we do that, we'll find that D 05 is equal to five divided by five and we'll fight. Divided by five is equal to one. So what does this value actually mean? Well, this means that after five seconds between seeing the lightning and the thunder duffel, the distance and miles that we are from the lightning struck is actually equal to one mile.
