Hello, for this video we are going to go over the six main steps of the scientific method and why each one is important.

So the first step of the scientific method is to ask a question.

And this is to determine what the focus of your research is going to be.

And by asking a question, you have a good base and focus for your research project.

And now that you have a specific question in mind, we can move on to the second step of the scientific method, which is to conduct background research.

And conducting background research is important because now that you've have your question that you want to answer, you want to read up on any data and evidence that is already out there in order to assist you in further developing that research focus.

So background research needs to further development of the focus and provides you with background on your specific topic.

And now that you have this background research, you can move on to step three, which is to formulate your hypothesis.
