Hi, welcome.
00:02
The purpose of this video is to talk about the difference between reptiles and amphibians.
00:07
And in terms of evolution, what adaptations did reptiles evolve to allow them to successfully live on land? so there's four main ones i'm going to go over in no particular order.
00:20
The first one would be eggs.
00:21
So reptiles evolved the adaptation of having very hard, shelled eggs, okay, very similar to birds ' eggs.
00:29
So think about the eggs of an amphibian are very soft.
00:32
They lay those eggs in water.
00:34
If you lay your eggs on land, you need an extra layer of protection from all sorts of things as it's sitting there on the land.
00:41
The second adaptation would be skin.
00:44
Reptiles evolved to have very dry, waxy skin made of lipids and very scaly skin.
00:52
This prevents water loss...
