Rectum and Anus

These structures serve as the final segment of the digestive tract. The rectum temporarily stores fecal matter, and the anus regulates its expulsion from the body. This elimination process is essential for maintaining the body’s internal balance by removing undigested waste products.

Large Intestine

The large intestine primarily functions in absorbing water and electrolytes from the remaining indigestible food matter.
