Hello, we are going to be talking about this question, question 27 in the biology e &m chapter 5, section 3.
00:09
So that's the setup here.
00:13
And this is the sat2 book.
00:14
So this question is a set of multiple questions that are asking you to match the hormone to the gland.
00:21
In this particular question, we're being asked to figure out which hormone matches to the posterior pituitary gland.
00:28
So this is a bit more of a recall type question, but the best way to approach it, in my opinion, is to definitely go and start eliminating options we know don't work.
00:39
So we maximize our chances of getting the most accurate response.
00:42
So right away, when i see thyroxin, i straightaway think of thyroid hormone, right? this is secreted from the thyroid and is therefore obviously not secreted by the postureptituatory.
00:54
So this, whenever you see thyroxin, you can think of thyroid hormone.
00:57
The other thing i eliminated right away was insulin because we know insulin has to do with glucose uptake and is secreted by the pancreas into the bloodstream where it will handle glucose levels in the blood.
01:12
So these are just pieces of knowledge or facts that we kind of know just associating with dioxin and insulin.
01:20
And so therefore that's why i said this is a bit more of a recall type question.
01:23
But knowing the functions of these two things, just by some of the more common hormones associated with the endocrine system, can help us right away eliminate these options.
01:34
The other option that i eliminated right away was adrenaline.
01:38
A neat trick, or a couple of neat tricks that we can kind of think of with adrenaline, is that whenever i see adrenaline, i think of the adrenal glands.
01:46
It's right in the name right there, as you can see...
