Okay, so we know that the pharmacist is going to mix two concentrations of hydrocortisone to make one ounce a one ounce, too, and we don't know how much of each. So we could say that the pharmacist uses X ounces of the 1% solution and why ounces of the 5% solution and the total is going to be one ounce. And so to get the equations well, we know that X Plus Y is one because the total is one else. And then we know that the, um, the 1% solution would be 10.1 Times X. That's the concentration times the amount, and the 5% solution would be 50.5 times why. That's the concentration times the amount. And that should give us a 2% solution 20.2 times one the concentration times the amount since the amount is one else. So what I'm going to do with that is take my first equation and isolate the X so X equals one minus y. And doing that allows me to substitute one minus y in for the X and the other equation. So now the other equation is 0.1 times one minus y plus 0.5 times Why equals point 02 times one. And we can simplify this and find the value of y so we can distribute the point of one and we get pointed one minus point of one. Why plus point of five. Why equals 0.2 times one, which is just 10.2 Now we need to gather the like terms, so I'll subtract Point a one from both sides, and I'll combine the like terms and get 0.0 for why equals 0.1 and then to get why we can divide both sides by 0.4 and we get 1/4. So what that's telling us is that the pharmacist is going to use 1/4 of announce of the 5% solution or concentration, and then that means the remainder would be 3/4 of announce of the 1% concentration
