Okay. Hi there. This is solving this video tutorial goes through. Ah, solving questions 78 in chapter one, Section two. And we are told to perform the given operation and simplify if possible. So we are given 15 divided by three and 1/3. And so we have ah, whole number. And then we also have a mixed number. Now we can't perform division or multiplication for that. Another matter that would we have numbers in different forms. And so what I need to do is I need to put both of these numbers in the same for So I'm going to convert or be right the number 15 as a fraction by putting it over the number one Anthony, I am going Teoh rewrite or convert this mixed number into improper fraction. So remember, converting next numbers into the improper fractions. This denominator right here tells me how many pieces make up a whole. So three pieces make up a whole Well, I have three holes, so three holes that each have three pieces gives me nine pieces. Then I have this extra piece, so I have to add it together. And that gives me the total number of pieces that I have. So I have 10 pieces of the 3rd 10 of the thirds. So now I can do my division will do to divide fractions to divide by a fraction. That's the same thing is multiplying by the reciprocal. So 15/1 is this divided by 13th is the same as 15/1 times, 3/10 on. That's because 10/3 and 3/10 are reciprocal. So now I can apply the multiplication rule for fractions, which is that we take the product of the numerator, which is 15 times three. And we put that over the product of the denominators, which is one times 10 and I know that I'm going to be able to simplify this. I'm gonna actually just prime factor it now. So 15 is three times by and then there's my original times three, and we have one times 10. Print factor is two times five, so these fives divide to be one. So I am left with three times three over one times two, and that becomes three times three is nine and one times two is two. So this is the quotient of 15 divided by three and 1/3
