this tutorial goes through solving Question 96 from Chapter one section to practice. So it's true. Tells us to perform the given operation and then simplify it possible. So the operation here is edition and we are told to ABS to fractions. However, they do not have the same denominator. And so we have to have a common denominator if we're going to be adding or subtracting fractions. So what I am going to do, rather than list out multiples of these rather large numbers, is I'm simply going to pardon factor. So E t is two times nine. So two times nine is three times three is nine and then 99. You know, it was gonna be nine times 11. Sir, Knight is three times three times 11 and then I'm going to use this to build my all city. So I see. Ah too. I see a three. I see a three and I see an 11. So and I'm also a client that out. I have two times two times three times 11 this 198. So this is our I was commenting on the least, and I want immunity with that is I'm going to take my original fractions. 5 18 uh, multiply by a form of one and build myself in an equivalent fraction with the denominator of one night. So 18 the prime factors are two times three times. So my missing factor here is 11. So my form of one is 11 over mother and the product of my lawyers ISS comes 11 which is 55. So I'm going to rewrite my equivalent fraction, and then I'm gonna do the same thing with my, um, second fraction of one 90 nights criminal supplied by some form of one to build an equivalent fraction. It's the denominator 1 98 Well, 99. That prime factor is three times three times 11. So hear my missing factor is too. So my form of one is to over two. And the product of my new Meridor's One Times two is two. So now I'm going to rewrite this equivalent fraction. And now both of my fractions have the same denominator, so I can actually add my new Meridor's. So 5 55 plus two is 57. Unless we do that is 57. There you go. And I already know what? The prime factory of 1 98 ISS. So I'm just going to rewrite that here so that I can simplify my fraction. And I know that 57 I got that from 55 just to, um, and my fine. That's actually a prime number. So one times fifties of it, that's not It could be divided by 357 this fall, so don't see it's gonna be three times 17 times 31 19 so we can simplify by removing a common factor. Three everywhere left with 19 over two times three times 11 which is 19 0 Her two times three is six, six times 11 is 66.
