Refer to Figure 11.11.(a) How did the concentration of dissolved $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ in the beverage change when the bottle was opened?(b) What caused this change?(c) Is the beverage unsaturated, saturated, or supersaturated with $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ ?
a. The concentration of dissolved $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ changes when the bottle was opened and carbon dioxide was released. The dissolved carbon dioxide concentration decreases to its equilibrium value and the beverage becomes flat.b. The solubility of $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ reduces as the temperature of the solution increases and hence, onopening the bottle, $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ is released.c. The beverage is supersaturated with the carbon dioxide because carbon dioxide fizzles out when the bottle is opened.

Hello, everyone, this is Ricky. And today we're working on problem number 22 we have to make some observations on figure 11.11 which is a diagram of a fizzy drink that is slowly bubbling and thus losing carbon dioxide. All right, so a how did the concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide in the beverage change When the model was open, It decreased, and we know it decreased because we see those bubbles and those those bubbles are the gas leaving the solution. Next. What caused this change? Um, what caused this change? Waas, a carbon dioxide. And the solution is trying to reach equilibrium with the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. And so the chemical driving force for carbon dioxide is larger in the bottle. So we see a bubble shooting out, and this is most likely due to the fact that the liquid in the bottle was originally a super saturated solution. So when you return the environment of within the bottle and you open it up to the outside world signed, um, normal conditions re apply themselves. And we see this phenomenon where carbon dioxide leaves. So I hope this video was helpful
