All right.
00:02
So this question is asking, researchers have identified a number of factors that are related to happiness.
00:08
Which of the following is not one of them.
00:10
A, age, b, annual income up to $75 ,000.
00:15
C, physical attractiveness, or d, marriage.
00:20
So this is just one of those things that is straight from the textbook in what they mentioned to be factors connected to happiness.
00:28
However, i could, at least in my opinion, kind of take a gander or guess as to what it might be, but it might be different for everyone and how they perceive or how they value certain things to themselves.
00:45
And after reading this portion of the textbook, i kind of had my guesses confirmed.
00:53
So i'm just going to go through each one of them and hopefully we'll get to the right answer by a good explanation.
01:00
But basically, all the factors connected to happiness all dealt with correlational studies between this certain factor and reported levels of happiness.
01:13
So first off, with age, you could probably take the guess that the older you are, the more satisfied you are with life.
01:19
And that's true.
01:20
Life satisfaction increases the older that people get.
01:27
But you should also take into account that these studies are purely correlation.
01:32
Just because you're getting older doesn't mean you're going to be getting you're going to you know randomly just get happier but it did show a positive correlation between life satisfaction and age so a can't be our right answer and be annual income up to $75 ,000 and i think this although it's really really specific it makes a lot of sense.
01:57
I know there's this kind of the saying or just thought or the idea that money doesn't measure happiness and this is kind of where it comes true at least as shown in psychology in that yes money can buy happiness but there is a caveat in that it only buys happiness to a certain point so what a study showed is that income income and happiness were positively correlated or that as you increase your income you increase in reported happiness however it stops at a point which is an annual income of $75 ,000.
02:35
You're probably like, well, if you have more money, you could indulge more.
02:40
But the idea is that, yes, you could indulge more, but that money has to come from somewhere, and it most likely impairs your ability or your time or your dedication to being able to indulge in that sort of sense...
