So we're looking at the differences between mitosis and meiosis as well as some similarities here.

So starting with the idea of mitosis here, we have our major stages, interphase, prophase, metaphase, and then telephase slash cytokinesis.

So mitosis is what is used for body cell regeneration, for growth, for repair.

Anytime we need a cell that needs to be duplicated into identical daughter cells, we go through mitosis.

So these cells, they start out with 2n.

They end up with two cells that are also diploid, also 2n, at the end of the result.

And as you can see a little bit from the screen here, there are the different stages, what goes through, phase, metaphase they line up, anaphase the chromatids split apart, telephase, they separate into new cells and then cytokinesis is that split.

And so if this were to go wrong, you could have issues with growth, with repairing cells that need to happen.

You could also on the other side of if it was unregulated, this could lead to cancer because you'd have uncontrolled cell division.
