all right, This two part problem is just checking that you see the difference between simplification and solving. So for the first part, I have negative two times nine minus three x minus five x plus two and they're just asking me to simplify. So I'm gonna go ahead and distribute this negative too. I have negative 18 for the first term, plus six x for the next term. And then I want to distribute this negative. So negative tons. Five X's negative five X and a negative. Times two is negative too. To call this done, I'm gonna need to collect, like, terms. So let's go ahead and put our exes together. I have a positive one x and then I have negative 18 minus two, which is negative. 20. So that is the simplification problem. The next problem is different, and hopefully you see why. But it's starting the same. Everything looks the same until suddenly they say equals negative 25. And it's that equals that tells you that you're going to solve. So since this part is actually identical to this part, I could go ahead and quickly simple fight us in the exact same way I did before. You could probably even skip to the Blue Step if you wanted, but I just want to make sure you see where it's coming from. So again, six X minus five Exes. Ex negative 18 minus two is native. 20. And now it equals negative 25. So to solve this, I need to get that X alone. So I'm gonna undo the minus 20 by adding 20 and I get X equals negative five. So here was simplifying, and here was solving.
