we're being asked to simplify the given polynomial and the polynomial is x y minus four x y minus two x y. Well, each of these three terms are always turns because they all contained the same variables. Race to the same exponents. So we simply need to combine their coefficients. Also keep in mind for the first term x y we don't see a coefficient. But remember when you don't see one, there's an Imagine everyone, so I'm gonna put the one in there. So now let's subtract our coefficients. Well, first, we have one minus four, which is negative. Three a negative three minus two is negative five. So we will be left with negative five x y.
