when we want to simplify infraction like 24 River 54 it's asking us to find a number that divides both. Now we could divide both by two because they're even numbers. But then we might still have to simplify. So in order to simplify with just one time, we need to find the greatest common factor. So for 24 1 times 24 is 24 but we also have two and 12. There's three times eight and four times six five doesn't work, and since six is already up there, we're done. We're going to do the same thing and make a chart for 54. So one times 54 is 54. Then we have to times 27. The re goes into 54 by multiplying by 18 and the last one would be six times nine. So now when we take a look at our ER charts, then we see that they have numbers in common. There is the one two the RIA, then a six they have in common as well, and that's it. So that means the greatest common factor is six, which means we can divide both numbers by six and 24 divided by six is going to give us for if we divide 54 by six, then we would get nine. And so our answer is gonna be 4/9.
