Solid carbon-C(s, graphite), gaseous hydrogen-H2(g), and the sugar glucose-C6H12O6(s) are all burned with oxygen in a bomb calorimeter, and the amount of heat given off is determined for each process. How can these data obtained be used to determine the heat of formation of glucose? Your answer should include both chemical reactions and complete sentences.

So this problem tells us we have solid carbon. Ah h to gas. Uh oh. Two gas and glucose. See six h twelve oh, six solid. Ah, burned in a calorie emitter. And we want to determine the entropy of formation off glucose. And so, in order to do that, well, first, write thie chemical reaction for the formation of glucose six cs plus six h two gas plus three o two gas forms. See six h twelve oh, six salad. And so what we can do is with the bomb calorie emitter. We confined the delta H for each of these and then do a product's minus reactant ce in order to find the overall Delta H for this reaction, and then we can use the known on trapeze formation off carbon H two and o two in order to determine the delta H of formation of glucose. See six h twelve oh, six solid. And that is how we would determine it
