Solve each problem. See Examples 6 and 7.The graph shows the performance of investment portfolios with different mixtures of U.S. and foreign investments over a 25 -yr period.A. Is this the graph of a function? Explain.B. What investment mixture shownon the graph appears to represent the vertex? What relative amount of risk does this point represent? What return on investment does it provide?C. Which point on the graph represents the riskiest investment mix-ture? What return on investment does it provide?(GRAPH NOT COPY)

for part A. Let's review the definition of a function. A function is a relationship between numbers such that every input goes to exactly one output. Another way to think of it is every X on Lee has one. Why? But if you look at this function, if you look at about 16% and a little bit higher on our graph, you can see that those X values have to why values associated with it that does not satisfy the definition of a function, so it is not a function. So where is the Vertex on this graph? Well, if you look, you can see that it is The X value is just under 16%. So I would say it's about 15.8% for the X value with a corresponding why value off approximately 14.2%. Those numbers are open to a little bit of rounding. You have to look at the graph and make your best estimate. So what the values are that are associated with the Vertex. At that point, we have an 80% US and a 20% foreign mix of stocks, and you can see that by looking at the labels on the data points on our graph. Well, where do we have the riskiest investment mix? If you notice on the X axis that shows are lower risk to hire, ex or highest risk happens when we have 100% foreign stocks, and at that point, our return on investment is pretty high. It is almost 16%.
