in this problem, we have nine X plus two y equals 10 and we have X minus y equals negative five. I'm going to use elimination method in order to eliminate one of the variables. To make my problem a little bit easier, I'm gonna leave my first equation alone. Leave that as nine x plus chu y equals 10. By multiplying the second equation by to every term by two, I will end up with opposites. In this case, I will end up with Chu X minus two y is equal to negative 10. Notice. I have opposites here. That's exactly what I'm looking for. So that when I add the two equations, the Y values will cancel. That will leave me with 11. X is equal to zero, dividing both sides. By 11 I get zero divided by 11 which is zero. So the X coordinate of my solution will be zero plugging zero back into one of the two equations I confined the y value. I'm gonna substitute into the second equation just because it looks like it might be easier. Zero minus y will equal negative five negative y equals negative five. Which means that why will equal five 05 will be the point of intersection of these two lines
