in this problem, we're being asked to take the equation a equals, p plus p R T. And we're being asked to solve for tea. In other words, we want to get t all by itself. Well, to do that, we need to move all the other terms to the other side of the equation. Well, because P is getting added to the term p r t weaken, simply subtract P from both sides. So I'm going to subtract p from both sides of the equation. So let's see what we're left with. Well, on the left hand side, we have a minus p Well, those air not like terms. So we simply need to write a minus p Now, on the right hand side of the equation, we have P minus p, but that's equal to zero. So these first terms will cancel each other out, and we are now simply just left with P R T again. Keep in mind our goal is to get t all by itself. Well, what's happening to T Well, it's getting multiplied by P. Times are well, how do we undo Multiplying by P times are well, we would simply need to divide both sides by p times are and that's exactly what we're going to. D'oh! We're gonna divide both sides of our equation by P. Times are now on the left hand side because we cannot divide both A and P evenly by PR, we can essentially just leave it as is we'll have a minus p all getting divided by P. Times are now on the right hand side of the equation. We first have p divided by P. Well, that's equal to one. So these terms will cancel out as well as we have our divided by our which is also one. So those terms will cancel out. And if you know this, all we're left with is t. So now we've isolated t by itself and what we found is that a minus p divided by P times are is equal to t
