the following linear equation two divided by three times X, is equal to eight. So this is a linear equation because accessories to the power of one and both expressions should equal to each other. And we know that addition and subtraction under each other, and multiplication and division will undo each other. So this was quite simple. We just have two thirds Times X is equal to eight. So we want to get rid of the two thirds on this on this on the left side of the equation in order to isolate the X. And there's two ways we could do this. The first one is we could divide both sides of the equation by two thirds, so this will be to dirt divided by two dirt's, which cancel each other out. And then this would equal eight divided by also two thirds. Or we could multiply this by the inverse of two thirds, which is just three divided by two. And that's the way we're going to do it, which is gonna multiply by the inverse of this fraction. So the inverse is just the number. The fraction pretty much just flipped over. So the inverse of two third is just three over to, so we have two thirds times x times The inverse of two thirds, which is three divided by two, equals to eight times 10 verse. Again remote complain treated better by two. And now we'll multiply two thirds times three, the better by two. So we multiply and we'll multiply across, and it's just going to be two times three. That's six and three times two or six. So that's 6/6 is just one the inverse. They're gonna cancel each other out, so we're left with just X. Now we have on the right side, eight times three, divided by two. So there's going to be eight times 3 24 divided by two. So this is simply just 12. So we have X is equal to 12, and we could quickly check to see if this is correct or not. By replacing extra 12 on the left side, we have two birds. Times 12 is equal to eight, but does this two. We multiply across two times 12 that's 24 divided by three is equal to eight, and indeed, 24 divided break there is equal to eight, so eight equals eight. That's true. Air Force X equals 12
