we're being asked to take the equation to X plus seven y equals 21 solve it for why? So in other words, we want to isolate. Why on one side of the equation. So how are we going to do this? Well, if you know this, the term two acts is getting added to the term seven. Why? So we can move the two X to the other side of the equation by simply subtracting to wax. And the reason why we want to do this is no This we have to x minus two acts. Well, that's equal to zero. So this terms will cancel each other out, and we will just be left with seven. Why? On the left hand side of the equation? Well, on the right hand side, we have 21 minus two ex Well, those air not like terms, so we can't combine them. So we can simply just right. 21 minus two ax. Now, know this on the left hand side, we're left with seven times. Why? So because why is getting multiplied by seven to get the seven to the other side? What we're going to do is we're going to divide each term by seven. So what happens here? Well, in the left hand side, we have seven divided by seven, which is one. So they'll cancel each other out. So we'll have. Why equals? Well, on the right hand side, we first have 21 divided by seven, which is three. And then we have two divided by seven, which doesn't reduce. So we'll simply just have minus two sevens X. And now we've got an why by itself. So why is equal to three minus 27 sex Now you can also rewrite it this way. We could also put the negative to seven X term first, followed by the positive three. If we were to do that, we would say that why is equal to negative two Sevens X plus three? And this would be acceptable answer for why, as well
