Hi everyone, so today we're going to be looking at hypotheses that we use for hypothesis tests, and we've been given four different scenarios to work with.

So the first scenario, we're looking at the age of enrollment for evening classes at a certain college.

And the question is suggesting that the mean age is greater than 26 years.

And so for that, we can see that the alternative hypothesis that's being suggested is that it's greater than 26, which means that our normal hypothesis is that the mean age is actually a new hypothesis that.

Equal to 26, which is equivalent to saying it's less than or equal to 26.

And so we did this by identifying in the question that the thing that is being suggested, the alternate to the normal that's being suggested, is that the age is greater than 26.

And the alternative to this, or the sort of status quo is that we would assume that the age is 26 or that it's less than or equal to 26.

So very similarly, we're going to move on to the next part, which is asking about the weight of packages that are being shipped.
