we're being asked to subtract the polynomial 1.7 x squared, minus 2.7 x from the some of the pollen. No meals, 1.4 x squared, minus 5.1 and 1.33 x minus 1.9 X squared plus 5.2 So what we first need to do is write an expression to represent this problem. While our key phrases here are that were first being asked to subtract this first Paulino meal from the sum of our second to Polly No meals. Well, because we're being asked to subtract that first polynomial from the some of the second When we write this out, that first polynomial is going to go last. So, in other words, we're gonna first start with the sum of the last two palling No meals, so we'll have the quantity of 1.4 x squared minus 5.1 plus the quantity of 1.33 x minus 1.9 x squared, plus 5.2 And then we're going to subtract do first polynomial, which was the quantity of 1.7 x squared minus 2.7 x. And now we simply need to simplify. Well, because those 1st 2 pollen no meals are being added. We simply need to write out those terms, so we're gonna have 1.4 x squared, minus 5.1 plus 1.33 x minus 1.9 X square plus 5.2 now for our last polynomial because it's getting subtracted. We need to change the signs, a bull for those terms, and then we can drop the parentheses. In other words, that positive 1.7 x squared will become negative 1.7 x squared and the positive 2.7 x. So excuse me, the negative 2.7 x will become positive 2.7 x and now we simply need to combine light terms. So let's start with the first part, which is 1.4 x squared. Well, it has, like terms of negative 1.9 x squared and negative. 1.7 x squared well 1.4 minus 1.9 is negative. 0.86 and negative 0.86 minus 1.7 is negative, 1.93 So we'll have negative 1.93 x squared. Our next term is negative, 5.1 and it's like term is positive, 5.2 while negative 5.1 plus 5.2 is equal to 0.1 So we'll have plus 0.1 Our next term is 1.33 x, and its light term is 2.7 X Will 1.33 plus 2.7 is equal to 3.4. So we'll have positive 3.4 x. So our final answer is negative. 1.93 x squared plus 0.1 x plus 3.4 x
