our problem asked us to find the cost sea of ex gowns and guess where gas is $3.50 per gallon. So are crucial piece of information. Here is this one that says gas is $3.50 per gallon. So what this is saying is essentially that one gallon of gas is going to cost us $3.50 so I can apply this to, say, two gowns. And guess so two gallons of gas is going to be equal to our same $3.50. But times two. And this is because, basically, we can just add one gallon plus one gallon will be two gallons, so the price will be $3.50 plus $3.50 which is going to just be equal to two times 3 50 So this can also be applied to any number of gallons. To guess that you have so say, for instance, we had seven gallons of gas, then our costs would be $3.50 times are seven gallons. So the problem ass asks us to find the cost. See, in terms of X and that is our number of gallons of gas. So what we found above is your sick are our cost is thrillers 30 cents times the number of guns that we have. So our cost equals 3 50 times are x number of gallons, and so we can plug in our gallons to double check that. This is right. So say we had one gallon X equals one that our cost is $3.50 which is exactly what we said above up here. And the same thing for our seven gallons of gas. If X equals seven, our cost is 3 50 I'm seven, which is again exactly what her answer was.
