we&#x27;re calculating the mass percent of an element Seeing a compound. Uh, I like to look at water, and so if we take a look at a water molecule here, we want to figure out what percent of a water molecule say hydrogen and what percent is oxygen? And so, in order to do this, I have to figure out the more massive each one of these and you&#x27;re out, the more mass entire compound. So I know I have two hydrogen, so it&#x27;s gonna be two times 1.8 for my hydrogen and for my oxygen. I have one of those one time, 16.0 grams per bowl. So I end up with 2.16 plus the 16.0 So the more mass of water we could say is 18.16 grams per mole for H 20 If I wanted to figure out what percentage of this once again its hydrogen and what his oxygen, I&#x27;m gonna take the part.
