so bit of a complicated problem here. Um, So we need to know what is the density of each gas? And I know you have a formula for density of a gas, but I teach my students just to use that the main basic gas laws. And so first, I got the moles per unit volume for each gas by dividing well by solving the ideal gas law for an over V. So the dividing both sides by r t and then dividing both sides by V and plugging in. Then I get s o many moles per liter and then to find out what the density is, we just need to multiply by the molar mass eso that we cancel moles and we're yet grams per leader. Eso I've determined the density of each gas. You can just use the density formula if you want to. Now, eso many of the molecules some percentage of the molecules are gonna be chlorine and that percentage times the density of the chlorine, plus the remaining percentage out of 100 is flooring. So 100 minus x percent is flooring and multiplying that by the density of the flooring, uh, and adding the two should. Then give me the, uh, averaged and city times 100%. And so I multiplied out on the left hand side 144 uh, minus 1.44 X is equal to 1 77 And then I solved for ex subtract 1 44 on each side and combined the X terms and I got the value of X is 26.46. Now that is Thebe percentage of the molecules that are chlorine. And the remaining percentage 73.54% is flooring. But they didn't ask us what percentage of the molecules what the Mole Fraction or MOL percent would be. They asked us for the mass percent. And so now if we take that point 7354 times the 38 grams per mole, uh, for Floren on and add to it the, uh 0.2646 representing the percent of chlorine tons, its mass. Ah, and then divide by the each one but total mass. And so let's first find out what the total masses so 0.7 three for four times 38 his 27 0.94 and point to 646 times 70.9. Now, uh, that's the total, uh, 40 6.70. And so for the floor een 20 7.94 over the total, I get 59.8, and that is a percent, while I get point for your point 598 But then as a percentage, that's 59.8 and dividing the part that is through the the mass of the, uh, Corinne. Then I get the remaining part, which is 40.2% and that let's see, that was flooring, and that is chlorine.
