I have a campground and i want to add two more camping spaces to my campground.
00:08
So each of those camping spaces is going to be a 16 by 30 foot cement slab.
00:18
And then i have to extend the driveway out so people have access to those camping spaces.
00:24
So my driveway is going to be 8 feet wide by 45 feet into the campground or into the, towards the spaces.
00:33
The whole extension to my campground is 300 feet and then by 100 feet.
00:40
So where i don't have cement slabs for driveway and camping spaces i want to spread with gravel.
00:48
So the question is how much gravel do i need? so this is another one of those problems where you're going to just find the areas and these are areas of these are rectangular areas so it's just the length times the width.
01:00
The area is going to equal the length times the width.
01:04
So to find the area of the camping spots, it's going to be 16 times 30, and 16 times 30 is 480.
01:21
So each camping spot is going to be 480.
01:28
So my camping spots will make those in green.
01:31
And then my driveway will make that gray.
01:34
The area of my driveway is going to be 8 times 45 which is 360 and then the area of the whole rectangle so the length times the width so the area of the whole rectangle is 300 times 100 which is 30 ,000...
