The number of hours $h$ needed to defrost a turkey weighing $p$ pounds in the refrigerator can be estimated by $h=5 p .$ Graph the equation and use the graph to estimate the time needed to defrost a 25 -pound turkey.

Alright. So this problem is really all about reading the tangent line off the graph. And we have a situation where cooling occurs And I will go all the way down to about 75° when the cooling is complete because that's the ambient temperature, I would say not 75°C. Or else it would be way too hot. How about 75°F. That's much better. Much more comfortable. Okay. And so basically um this is a problem that wrote wires, reading a reading off a graph. It's gonna be hard to fully reproduce it. I'll see if I can get somewhat close and with the idea is to find out one hour um after the cooling began. What's the rate of change of cooling? And so um it would be very hard to reproduce this. So we'll basically talk about how to do this or given a tangent line. And we want to read the slope of the tangent line and that sent it. That tangent line slope is r rated change of temperature with time. So we're going to do it by approximating best we can. We're going to do rise over run. And so we're going to look at basically a delta temperature over a delta time. So um the way the tick marks go, you can pretty much look at um a uh and the rise is really negative. So if I go across to big squares, I get my vertical is -50° up. Um And that horizontal that support, that's hard to read, it's slightly over an hour. So let's say we say it's about Roughly 66 minutes. It is very difficult to kind of gauge it. Um not having a full grid marks or tick marks. So if we do this best guess at our slope, Then we end up with about zero uh 76 basically degrees ferret per minute as our rate of change of temperature with time. So again, the idea is that you want to find slope of the tangent line, do your best to read it off. We want slope slope is that are instantaneous created change of temperature with time. And hopefully that helped and have a wonderful day.
