Problem 1 Easy Difficulty

The space shuttle travels at a speed of about $7.6 \times 10^{3} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}$ . The
blink of an astronaut's eye lasts about 110 $\mathrm{ms}$ . How many football fields
(length $=91.4 \mathrm{m} )$ does the shuttle cover in the blink of an eye?

Answer

$=9.14660$

it was something a problem. We have a space shuttle space shuttle is traveling, um, at a record speed of 7.6 times 10 to the three meters per second. The time of astronaut the blink is 110 millisecond and a football field is 91.4 meters. It says. How many football fields does this shuttle cover in the blink of an eye? While we know that the velocity is equal to the distance divided by time, we also therefore know that the distance is equal to the velocity times the time. First, let's go ahead and figure out how much distance it travels. In one ash nods blank in one blink. The distance is going to be equal to 7.6 times 10 to the three meters per second multiplied by the time and the time is going to be able to 110 times 10 to the minus three because that is the same as a milli. Second, when we do that calculation, we end up with the distance of one. Blink is equal to 836 meters. How many football fields is that I'm gonna do a unit conversion here, and I'm simply trying to get rid of the meters and I'm gonna put in football fields. But we know that one football field 91.4 meters. So I simply have to divide those numbers out. Meters is gonna cancel and I end up with, uh, calculation shows me a nine point 14660 yada yada yada. But if you think about that for just a second and you look at the problem here, there's only two significant figures here. There's three. So I'm going to say that this is people to 9.15 football fields in one blink. And I am going to say that that is my answer because it shows my understanding in both the yet and in what did meet
