The table below shows the value (in thousands of dollars) of a color copier at various lengths of time after its purchase. Plot the data in the table as ordered pairs. Then draw a straight line passing through the points.a. What does the point $(3,7)$ on the graph tell you?b. Find the value of the copier when it is 7 years old.c. After how many years will the copier be worth $\$ 2,500 ?$(TABLE CANNOT COPY)
a. A 3-yr-old copier is worth $\$ 7,000$b. $\$ 1,000$c. 6 yr

purchased this color copier. And the chart is giving us the age in years by the value in thousands. So every number you see on there for the value is in terms of thousands. So for the table, what we're gonna do is we're gonna plot this information and on my X axis, I've got years Should say I have the age in years and on my vertical access I have the value since it's going down over time in dollars. So let me go ahead and plot what I have after three years, the value of this machine isn't seven. It's 7000 dollars. So I will put that right here, and I'm gonna actually say not just dollars, but, uh, in thousands of dollars. Okay, so 37 is right here. That's my three years. $7000. Next, I have four years and 5.5 thousands. So that would be 5500 which is right here and then at five years I have $4000 so we could see that this thing is going downward and value, which most technical equipment does just like cars. And I'm gonna start answering the questions so for a. It's asking me what this 37 represents. So 37 shows that after three years, the machine's value is $7000 again because this axis is in terms of thousands of dollars be We want to know when the value of the copier is seven years old. So I want to look, I'm sorry. We want to see what the value of the copier is when it's seven years old. So I'm gonna kind of re sketch this here because I drew it a little funky. It's actually gonna go more like this, which is gonna help you see a little bit more where we're landing. So it's seven years. I wanna look straight up and I'm seeing it's hitting right here. And if I go over to the Y axis to get my value, it's about $1000. So after seven years, it's lost a whole bunch of its value. It's only worth 1000 that is, depreciation at work. And finally, we want to know when it's $2500 or $2500. How long has it been? So here's $22,500. I'm gonna just look right out here and it's hitting right about here. Now, again, my graph is a little wonky cause I didn't use a ruler. This is a great case for using a ruler. Ah, and so right here, I'm looking down and it looks to be about six years. So that is how we've used another table to interpret some data about a really
